Thanks for clarifying and thanks for the logs. Those logs leave out all the good stuff though. Let’s try and get more from them NOTE: these next instructions cause sensitive info to print to your logs so be careful what you copy and paste to me.

Open the JS Console (View menu > Tabs & Sidebars > Console) and run the following, ko.prefs.setBoolean("state.verbose.unsafe", true)
Then reproduce the issue and see if you can isolate one of those commands that’s failing to run.

FYI, from that screenshot it looks like the activate actually failed despite it being a blue “info” notification. Returning 1 usually means the process failed. And the logs seem to agree.

It might also be helpful for you to share the output of you running state activate from a CMD window in that projects folder.

Then in the JS Console enable debug logging for the State Tool library:

Before we do more, can you make sure you’ve done the steps from this thread? It’s cluttering up your logs quite a lot and it MIGHT, though not likely, could be causing issues with the state tool.

Also:

I don’t see any Debug lines in those new logs. Are you certain your ran the log.setLevel line in the JS console THEN reproduced the issue?
I don’t see the output from the other JS lines I asked to be run.

Here’s a screenshot from the Console settings. After entering the commands, I exit Komodo and restart in order to recreate the startup failure and capture the log. Are the Console settings persistent across Komodo sessions? Or ought I instead run the “state activate” command after entering the Console commands?

OH I’m sorry, no, they are not. The only way to get this debug output to work is to edit the tool.js file referenced in the errors. Before we do that, can you confirm that the State Tool button in the UI is actually broken? That’s what those commands are attempting to do. All the steps I’ve had you do to see if the state tool integration is broken are showing that it’s working so I suspect that those errors are just red herrings.

See screenshot below. Click on that button and see if your scripts are listed and menu options like Add Script is present.

Confirm for me if those menu options are present when your project is open and active in Komodo.

Add a State Tool Script ? When I choose Add A Script the editor opens the activestate.yaml file and adds another script entry. I entered helloWorld.which already has previous entries.
If I then choose the menu option “Run command,” choose Activate, and provide the org/Project arguments a CMD.exe window opens and suggests things worked.

OH, Hmm, so those scripts don’t show up in that menu button though? Note in my screenshot that there are a bunch of additional menu items. Those are scripts in our AS.yaml file. If the scripts in your AS.yaml file are not showing up in that menu then let’s try the log.setLevel step then open that menu. Opening the menu should trigger at least some of failing commands you’re seeing in your logs at start up.
