I downloaded Komodo-IDE and proceeded through the menu, but after I
pressed “Install” my computer showed an error message “System
administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.” I have
Windows 7 and I am the administrator. Do you know what I need to do to
get past this error message?
Nope, you not. If you think you are administrator and you did not use Administrator
account (disabled by default) - you are not administrator and you DON’T have full permissions in your PC (It’s like su
in Linux). Try to run installer as Administrator (RMB on installer - Run as administrator).
Regards, Sergey.
To clarify, “RMB” = right-click on icon.
Note that you can also set Windows to refuse to run unsigned executables / installers. Komodo isn’t signed yet (bug 96096), so that might be preventing you from running the installer.
Do you need to be administrator to install Kmodo Edit? I’m asking because I’m forced to run in a locked down virtual Windows 7 environment. It would be great to be able to use Kmodo Edit but I don’t think I’ll be able to get additional privileges on the box.
Thank you in advance.
