Q: Komodo extension version numbers?

Not sure if this sort of question fits best here under “Customization”…

Are there any constraints or conventions on how to structure version numbers in Komodo extensions (specified in the em:version element of the install.rdf file)? I’ve typically used a three-part numeric version like 0.1.2, but I’m wondering if there are limits on how many segments I can use and whether the segments all need to be numeric?
