When the user begins a fresh session with Komodo IDE, Files > Open always begins looking in the samples directory (created by the installation process) or the Windows user’s Documents directory, even though it is quite unlikely that the user’s files are stored in either location. To open one of his own files, he has to navigate to a different directory and perhaps even a different drive. For any fresh session, the process should instead default to whatever value the user set in a new field in Preferences > File Opening.
