I had to install libpixbuf to get komodo to start at all, but now the “hamburger” menu in the top right doesn’t open anything when I click it. The icon changes to indicate the menu should be open, but it’s not there. There are no errors in the terminal I launched komodo from.
A user reported the same issue as a response in this thread here:

Could you reproduce the issue and then share your error log? Help > Troubleshooting > View Log
Note you can press Alt to bring up your menus, as a temporary workaround.
The alt trick is helpful, that’ll get me pretty far. I have some more information aside from the error log.
I had komodo open for a while, hit the hamburger (nothing happened), then hit alt and viewed the log. It was pretty long as komodo had been open for a week. I thought I should try to capture something shorter, so I closed komodo and reopened it fresh. When I hit the hamburger menu, it actually opened - but only with the “view log” menu entry. That screenshot is very odd, it almost seems as if the popup menu is disappearing behind the toolbar. Could you record a video?

I don’t have anything to take a video, but it doesn’t wiggle - it just goes from closed to open. Here’s a screenshot with better context, with the window not maximized
I made a new file, so now there are two entries in the menu.
Could you try running this from a macro? > ko.uilayout.cloneUnifiedMenuItems()
After that check the burger menu again.
That did the trick, looks like the menu is populated
