I too am unable to get past the login screen in Komodo, despite having set up an account and verified the password, and successfully logged onto the website. I also get the “Saving private key failed with:” error, but that’s as far as the error message goes! I’ve tried contacting @activestate on Twitter but there’s been no response as yet.

I was able to get around the problem by installing the nightly build from http://downloads.activestate.com/Komodo/nightly/komodoide/latest-12.0.0/. It looks like they’ve fixed whatever the problem was!
