So I run a perl script and the output pane appears at the bottom and is rather narrow. How can I make it bigger, preferably maximized?

Try right clicking on the Command Output tab and select Detach Pane. That will pop the entire bottom pane out of Komodo and you can make it as big as you like.
There’s also an option in your Toolbox Command in the Advanced Tab to have the command output in an external terminal, though that will open a new terminal each time the command is run I believe.
Thank you, I was able to achieve the objective by right clicking the debug tab and detaching the pane as suggested by you.
