Crashes after opening files

Hi.

I’m a long time KOMODO IDE user. I set up a workstation at home and decided to try the latest version.

I do some pretty basic stuff: connect via ftp to my remote or local server, open a file, modify it, save it

It worked like a charm for a week, than it started crashing: I open a document (either remote server or local file), wait a few seconds and crashes

So I installed 10.2 (same as in office) and it keep crashing. I deleted all configuration files, again crashing. Now I have a brand new Komodo IDE 10.2 and still crashes after opening.

This error look like you’re Tutorials\Getting_Started.komodotool is empty or does not exist.
Did you might removed the the Tutorials folder from you’re toolbox?
Does you’re toolbox load at all? or is it just blank?

If you run Komodo in safe mode( help -> troubleshooting -> restart in safe-mode ), does this issue still appears?

Did you might removed the the Tutorials folder from you're toolbox?
No, it’s still there (see attached image)

Does you're toolbox load at all? or is it just blank?
It looks fine

If you run Komodo in safe mode( help -> troubleshooting -> restart in safe-mode ), does this issue still appears?

Thanks for the screenshot.
Looking at you’re tutorials folder, you’re missing the Getting Started tutorial.
I created a gist for the Getting started file, so you can create it in the following location:

C:\Users\allog\AppData\Local\ActiveState\KomodoIDE\10.2\tools\Tutorials\Getting_Started.komodotool

In you’re last error log I see the following error:

Codeintell is running over a socket on local host, looks like it is getting terminated somehow.
I had this issue recently, bu this was to do by a to aggressive firewall( ZoneAlarm ) I installed.
The only thing that fixed the issue, was uninstalling the firewall. When snoozing the firewall, it still blocked the internet connection for Komodo.
So it might also be a firewall issue.

So, I solved the problem.

It wasn’t the tutorial because it was correctly installed and neither it was Komodo’s fault because I installed from scratch, it wasn’t neither a firewall issue.

You know what was? I updated my mouse software! My problems started after upgrading to the latest version of X-Mouse Button Control [ https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm ]

Now I uninstalled the mouse software and Komodo works like a charm, even if I find this thing odd

@Edoardop I’m glad to hear you’re problems are solved.

Oke, sometimes the strangest things can cause the weirdest bugs.
But a mouse software bug was latest thing on my mind that can cause something like that.

FYI, you’re not the only one who get crashes with this software. You may want to report a bug about it to Highrez.
