After a new install of Mint 18.1, I can do everything in Komodo IDE (Komodo IDE, version 10.2.1, build 89853, platform linux-x86_64. Built on Wed Mar 8 13:43:00 2017.) that I expect except open files. I have checked file permissions everywhere. I get no errors. The opened file simply does not appear in the editor window. Or perhaps I should say that the editor window does not appear. Just the blank background.
Help?
(Other editors work as expected)

Would you please attach the contents of your Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File after you try and open a file? That may help us identify the issue. Thanks.

Tried ''Safe Mode". Attempted to open an HTML file and a text file. Got in Notifications:
