Komodo 9.3.2 file will not save. Komodo hangs

Komodo IDE, version 9.3.2, build 88191, platform win32-x86.
File will not save. On Komodo restart backup file opens as changed and will not save. Komodo is hung.
I need to know how to recover.

Seems something about the file encoding is throwing Komodo off. Try changing the encoding of the file in your statusbar and then saving it?

Selecting not to restore backup opens the XML file as Text.
Changing Language to XML changes colors, etc.
Made edits and saved.
Seems all OK now.

encoding is and was UTF-8
