Disabling the "grey box" popup thing on function name hover?

I know this is kind of a ridiculous this to post in the forum, but it’s driving me crazy.

For some reason, when I installed Komodo Edit on my new machine, i’m starting to get this grey box that pops up when I rollover a function name:

Which would be fine, except that it prevents me from scrolling, making longer documents pretty unusable. Is there a way to disable this thing? What’s it even called? I’ve scoured through the Preferences and haven’t had any luck.

Does anybody know how to get rid of it??? (I’m working primarily in PHP if that helps…)

What version of Komodo are you using?

It’s doesn’t make any sense: same for Komodo 8.5 and Komodo 9 (Press Ctrl and place your mouse over any function (for example: spl_autoload_register) and wait 1-2 seconds)

You can disable the hyperlinks feature in the Editor > Smart Editing preferences.
